For .ZIP files:

These files were compressed into zip files using WinZip, downloadable at WinZip.com. I belive Windows XP lets you unzip the file even if you don't have winzip installed. Other file compression programs should also work (such as PKZIP), but for simplicity I would stick to WinZip. Some of these files are really Winzip self-extracting .exe files, but renamed to .zip. The webhosting service for this site has prevented the download (or my upload) of .exe files. While this .exe to .zip rename has not affected the useability of the file, if you do have trouble, feel free to rename it yourself and then run the self-extracting program by double clicking on it.

FOR THE NETM AND FLIGHT/CC'S HANDBOOK: The Word versions of the document are password protected, and is available for printing and reading only. If you wish to use part of the documents for editing, feel free to email the webmaster to get an unlocked version. Or you can use the PDF version...

For Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files:

Left Click on the link (click quicly, once, for Macintosh users).

If you are given a choice to open or save, select your preference (if it is open, the file will not be stored on your hard drive, and would have to be downloaded again to view it again).

If the file is saved on your hard drive, open the Adobe Acrobat reader, then select File->Open, and go to the folder where the file is located. It is password-protected and intended for viewing and printing only.

If you cannot read PDF files or don't have the Adobe Acrobat reader installed, go to the Adobe website and download the Acrobat Reader.

The PDF File format is readable on many operating systems, Windows 95-98-2000-Me-XP, Macintosh, Linux and Unix included.

For Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint or Word files:

If you wish to save the file to your computer, right click (click and hold until the menu appears for Macintosh users) on the download link and select "Save As" or "Save Target As". Select the folder to put the file in, then open the associated Microsoft Office program to view the file (i.e. Excel for .xls, Word for .doc, PowerPoint for .ppt).

If you wish to view the file only, left click on the link. This should automatically open the file in the appropriate program. If prompted to save the file or open, select open.

Macintosh users may or may not be able to read the files. If their MacOS is capable of reading PC files (7.0 and above), and their verison of Office is 98 or later, the files should be convertable to Mac format.
